Surface Of Eceon

Time lapse of the South Pole. Photographed by researchers from the University of San Diego and the US government.

A 7 minute music video featuring amazing photography of Earth's South Pole in June, 2004. Witness 24 hour daylight and breathtaking images of the moon and stars while the sun is still above the horizon. Notice the awe inspiring waves of aurorae, which are charged particles from the sun that are normally visible near the Earth's poles, due to their interaction with our planet's magnetic field.
The video was photographed by scientists from the University of San Diego & the US Government.
It was edited By Nick Liveris. "The Open Sea" by the band, Surface Of Eceon.

constantly mutating painting by japanese street artists

Timelapse painting video by a Tokyo art collective, Rinpa Eshidan. The video is titled "1 week of art works" and shows a wall being painted and re-painted over the course of 7 days. It has been viewed over 1 million times since being promoted to the front page of Youtube (following its appearance on Videosift).

Rinpa Eshidan is a group whose members include Daisuke Yamamoto, the director of this video. "Eshidan" is an archaic Japanese word meaning "painters group". "Rinpa" includes the Japanese character for "circle". Yamamoto writes: "rinpa is 'circle' style. it’s a group that values the connections between people. the members are big fans of hip-hop and art. they get together once every two months to perform at clubs."
